Frenchman ’ s Creek feels it is most important for all employees to take vacation time for rest and relaxation. Therefore, the maximum amount of days you can accumulate is two times your annual earned amount. For example, if you earn 80 hours per year, then the maximum allowed hours of vacation you can accumulate will be 160 up to the maximum cap of 240 hours based on length of service. Full-time employees whose employment terminates after the first continuous six (6) months are entitled to any unused earned vacation pay accrued through their last day of employment. Employees, who leave the employment of Frenchman ’ s Creek before working for six (6) continuous months, forfeit any accrued vacation time. Any full time, year-round employee who leaves the employment of Frenchman ’ s Creek without proper notification or that is terminated with cause will forfeit any accrued vacation time. There is no legal requirement or obligation of Frenchman ’ s Creek to grant comp time to exempt employees. However, a manager may grant comp time to exempt employees who are required to work in excess of 40 hours per week for special projects or during weekends or any other non-working days. Department Heads and Executive Directors approval shall be sent to Human Resources so that an updated offer letter will be prepared, signed, and sent to payroll. Once Payroll receives the updated offer letter, they will add the policy to the employee’s time off profile. Employees must request comp time off utilizing the same process to request other time off. As in the case of vacation, managers may deny a request to use comp time if the employee ’ s absence will unduly disrupt department operations. Employees with more than 120 hours of vacation time available must use the amount in excess of 120 hours before requesting the use of comp time. Comp time that has accrued but not taken may be rolled over from one year to the next but is no longer accrued once a max balance of 160 hours is reached. Comp time is not paid out upon termination.
