Employee Handbook
First aid supplies are available from your supervisor. No matter how minor the injury is, a Notice of Injury Report must be taken by the Security Department ’ s paramedic on duty.
If complications arise in connection with your injury or illness while you are away from Frenchman ’ s Creek, you must report to your supervisor by telephone and to the Human Resources Department during business hours. If you require or ask for medical treatment, you may be sent to Med-Express, Jupiter Medical Center or Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, depending on the urgency. The employee may contact our worker ’ s compensation insurance to ask for a referral to another physician. In case of head trauma, chest pain or eye injury you will be sent directly to the nearest emergency room. If there is a loss of consciousness, 911 will be called at the same time the paramedic in Security is called. If you are unable to return to work the next scheduled workday, you must notify your supervisor and the Human Resources Department. When you can return to work, you must notify your supervisor and present a letter from the treating physician releasing your return to work. If the employee is on a no work status, we pay 66% of the average weekly wage. If the employee is on a light duty work status (can return to work with restrictions) and the employer does not have work available within the restrictions, we pay 64% of the average weekly wage. Frenchman ’ s Creek will make every effort to put you in a “ light-duty ” job, if you are released to light-duty, until you are released by your treating physician to full-duty. We will in no way return an employee to duty if the employee has not been released by the treating physician. This is to prevent putting the employee in a situation of aggravating an existing injury or of possible re-injury.
If you have any questions regarding worker ’ s compensation, contact the Human Resources Department.
