SADIE HAWKINS DAY The Sadie Hawkins Day tournament, on Sunday, February 26, was again a fun and successful day. Ladies could pick any partner, male or female, as long as it wasn’t a spouse or significant other. There were both nine hole players and eighteen hole players, with a 1:00 pm shotgun start for the eighteen holers and a 3:00 pm shotgun start for the nine holers. Organized into groups of four, they were divided into three flights on both courses. The format was changed every six holes to make it more fun and special. It was best ball for six holes, scramble for six and alternate shots for six. For the nine holers it was three holes each. Following golf was a “Burgers and Beers” reception with lots of food and drink to enjoy. There was a barbeque at the Golf Café with many different types of burgers, such as regular, tuna and veggie, as well as well as other food, including hot dogs and onion rings. Different kinds of IPA beers were in buckets on the tables. Tournament co - chairs Dottie Kovel and Bonnie Shyer planned and organized a lovely and enjoyable day. Ladies Club Championship This season’s Ladies Club championship was a three day event. Prior to the tournament, the qualifying round was held on Tuesday, February 20. The ladies were then paired and the winner in each pairing continued to the next round. There were three flights – one nine hole flight and two eighteen hole flights. The first round of the tournament itself was on Tuesday morning, March 7 and the semi - final round was on Thursday morning, March 9. The final round was in the afternoon Saturday, March 11.
