Welcome Home
Hurricane Preparation: 1. Take care of your family and property. 2. Take care of your work place and come in after the storm as soon as safe and possible. 3. If you are on medication make sure you do not run out for a few days. 4. For trainees. You will be staying at FCCC during the storm. (see Hurricane Preparation for Employee Housing) 5. Have all your important paperwork in sealed plastic bags in a save place or with you. 6. Try to park your cars early in a save garage spot. 7. Have some extra cash incase banks or money machines are down for a few days. 8. Trainees, call your family back home before the power and the telephones go down. You might not be able to contact them for a few days after the storm. Have extra phone cards. Before you come to the clubhouse take care of this at your home: • Turn your refrigerator and freezer to the coldest settings. • Unplug your television, clocks, etc. • Use or dispense any food items that can go bad if the electric is out for a couple of days. • Do all you laundry. • If on ground floor, pick up any loose items off the ground, pick up bed linens from the floor (if it floods sheets that are touching the floor will absorb water and will cause the mattress to become wet). • Remove any items from outside balconies or patios (patio furniture, ash trays, etc…). • Charge your cell phone batteries. • Take photos of your personal property. • Place all your personal items in closets. Bring with you for your stay at the club during the storm: • Pack personal items (medications, tooth brush, tooth paste, toiletries, change of clothing, pillows, blankets, etc.). • Bring your cell phone with extra batteries (charged). • Bring your passport, visa, DS2019, social security card, insurance policies, birth certificates. (place in a plastic bag, sealed with your name on it) Make copies of all forms and keep in two different locations. • If you have a car – fill the gas take up prior to the storm – as there may not be gas stations open after the storm. • Inform family where you will be staying and inform them, that because of weather, they may not be able to reach you until after the storm has passed. • Bring a battery operated radio/TV and extra batteries. • Leave massage with telephone number where you can be reached.
