Season Handbook 2022-2023

AMESSAGE FROM THE COO

Dear Members, We look forward to welcoming you home to Frenchman’s, and for those of you who have been here all summer, we look forward to continuing to be of service to you and your families as we kick off the 2022-23 Season. And what a season it promises to be! To say that things are going to be different around here would be an understatement, and I want to start by getting the bad news out of the way: not only will there not be a clubhouse to enjoy for the next couple of years, you’ll also be living in the midst of an enormous construction project, which presents myriad challenges for all of us. Members will have reduced parking, navigating your way around the construction zone will at times be challenging (especially when heading to the Pool or the Fitness Center), there will be noise and other distractions (especially for tennis players), and there will be limited food and beverage options at the Club’s main campus.

But there is good news too: with the opening of the Pavilion at 10 North (now targeted for the second half of November), we are committed to making an immediate improvement to our menus, the quality of food served, and the service standards you enjoy at the Club. In addition, the Beach Club and Fitness Center both received a face lift this summer, the Poolside Café will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, the Golf Café (to be rebranded as the Tavern on the Range when the Pavilion opens) will serve casual fare and libations from 11am to 7pm daily, and we have assembled a truly spectacular calendar of Entertainment events and holiday celebrations for you to enjoy. Access to the Golf Course and Tennis Courts will remain unfettered (with the exception of three courts that have been closed to provide access to the Fitness Center and Pool for emergency vehicles), and of course you will be surrounded by friends and neighbors who, after a challenging construction period, can all look forward to a stunning new Clubhouse which will be the “jewel in the crown” of our wonderful community when it opens in the summer of 2025. The world outside of Frenchman’s is likely to continue to present many challenges, but while we are not immune to the effects of inflation, bear markets, supply chain issues, and global conflict, I genuinely feel that this community provides a refuge from the chaos outside our gates, and we will make sure that always remains the case. During the off season, we have managed to hire well at the entry level and into the management team as well. We have dozens of new colleagues from around the world who have come to Frenchman’s to start their careers, and we are treating their training and development as a priority. We have hired a new F+B Training Manager, Steve Krall, who joins us after several years in this same role at a club in Boynton Beach. Steve will be reporting to our new Director of Food and Beverage, David Kent, who joins us from Arizona, along with our new Beverage & Bar Manager, Marco Jardim, who hails from South Africa. Mr. Kent will be overseeing all Food and Beverage operations at the main club, with the assistance of Frenchman’s favorite Martina Haut. And speaking of Frenchman’s favorites, Cindy Teyssedou, who has done a remarkable job pulling double duty at the main campus and Beach Club, will now be exclusively focused on making sure we continue to have the best Beach Club in the region
