Bar, Drinks, and Wine

A full service bar and hard liquor as aperitif is as American as baseball. Wine is usually served during the meal. A digestive or after dinner drink is an European tradition, which is celebrated only by a few members or on special occasions like family reunions. Terminology and Pouring Standards are listed below.

Just Liquor in a glass

On the Rocks Liquor served over Ice (Martini) Up or Straight Up Liquor shaked over Ice but served w/o Ice Shaker on the Side The Shaker is served aside the Drink Ice on the Side An extra Glass of Ice is served on the Side Dirty Ice on the Side

The Ice that was used in the Shaker is served in a extra glass on the Side

In a stemmed Glass

In a White Wine Glass

In a Snifter

In a Cognac Glass

A Splash

A small amount of Soda or Juice is added to the Liquor
