The official opening tournament of the Frenchman's Creek Ladies Golf Association 2022 - 2023 season was held on Tuesday, November 1. Despite a slight rain storm just before the tourna- ment, the weather was just beautiful. It was a lovely day for a very enjoyable event, in which 136 ladies participated. The teams were divided into four groups, one playing on each nine. The format, as usual, was a nine - hole ABCD step - aside scramble, with everyone putting. After golf, the opening day luncheon was held at the Pavilion. Following a delicious soup, there was a wonderful, extensive buffet with so many choices from a salad bar and entrees, and ending with a luscious variety of desserts. Chef Ernesto and our super food and beverage staff provided a great meal. Special thanks to Martina and David for the wonderful luncheon. At the end of the luncheon, the winning teams were announced and they are listed below. As usual, the golf staff did a super job of organizing the tournament and getting everyone off so smoothly. Thanks to Kim and JR as well as Chris, Will, Rocco and Todd and the rest of the staff. And special thanks go to Dottie Kovel and Bonnie Shyer for their planning and making all the arrangements for such a great and successful day, and to Sue Shaw and Carol West for making all the arrangements for the super luncheon.
