A Message from David Kent
Dear Members,
from jobs up north. I believe that there is currently an opportunity to make significant improvements to service standards and consistency. Additionally, Chef Ernesto, in collaboration with the entire Culinary Team, is hard at work on a major upgrade for all of our menus. The goal is to streamline our offerings and deliver a higher quality product that sets an elevated standard for Dining at the Club going forward. Once the Pavilion is open and we are counting down to another busy season, we’ll be taking some other important steps to ensure excellence in the dining experience, including the implementation of a new reservations system that members can access using the new Frenchman’s mobile app, or by calling the Food & Beverage office. I believe members have a right to expect world class service in every interaction they have with the Club, and I’m committed to ensuring that our Food & Beverage operation consistently meets, and when possible, surpasses those
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is David Kent and a few weeks ago, I was invited to join the Frenchman’s team as your new Food & Beverage Director. I want to sincerely thank all of you who have welcomed me to the Club, and I look forward to
meeting all of you in the coming weeks and months. I am very grateful for the support I have received, but even more so for your insight and feedback on how we can improve the Club’s service in Food & Beverage and overall. As all of you are well aware, we have a monumental task ahead of us as we prepare to close the Clubhouse and move into our temporary facilities. Our temporary facilities have some limitations, and as a result there will from time to time be things that we are unable to accomplish. Despite these challenges and obstacles, I can promise you that all of us on the Food & Beverage team will be doing everything in our power to make this transition as smooth as possible. As in the past, if you ever have special requests, please let us know in advance and the Culinary Team will make every effort to accommodate you. One of the steps we are taking to ensure the success of the Club’s F&B operation during the transition and beyond is the development and implementation of a comprehensive training program for new arrivals and those returning for the season
expectations. Respectfully,
David Kent Director of Food & Beverage David Kent

GOLF
Dear Members, Last year the Golf and Green committees jointly reviewed and updated the golf rules and regulations. A big part of the enhanced rules and regulations pertain to “etiquettes of the game,” use of golf carts, dress code, among other topics. One of the main pillars of our golf rules that was adopted is: “Golf etiquette is a way of conveying respect to the players and the course. These are not “Rules of the Game;” they are “Traditions of the Game” that demonstrate integrity, self-policing, taking care of your surroundings, and being aware of the players around you.” Recently, I have received several comments and some photographs from members, regarding other members driving to close to greens, tees, and in some instances, dangerously close to bulkheads and lake edges. I have also heard from many about the lack of respect for the dress code policy. Typically regarding members wearing workout attire and non-golf clothing on the putting green and practice facilities. For the most part, I will admit, we have a fun job!! We are around the game that we are passionate about. We work at a great place and in a great environment, and we are surrounded by many very neat and interesting members and colleagues. And speaking personally, I have a wonderful golf staff. However, the absolute worst part of our job is being the enforcer of the rules! We are here to build relationships, not to tear them apart, but if you don’t follow the rules, we are required to advise and report you. So please help us and follow the rules, and for that one occasion, you might have a slip-up; please respect our responsibility at that moment as the rule’s enforcer. As I have said before, the entire thrust behind this effort is not to take the enjoyment out of playing or practicing golf. Instead, it is to protect the turf, the playability of the golf courses, and your and others’ safety, all of which can be adversely affected by inappropriate golf cart use. As a reminder, our policies regarding golf cart use and appropriate dress are recapped below. Use of Golf Carts: Golf carts must be operated in strict accordance with the posted instructions for the day. Our typical cart traffic rule is the 90-degree policy. Carts should be kept on the cart paths whenever possible and should not drive any nearer than 10 yards from greens and tees. Members with medial flags should use the cart path when feasible, and should not be any nearer than 5 yards from any tee or green. Under no circumstance should a golf cart be driven between the green and a greenside bunker or near a bulkhead or a severe slope next to a body of water. Dress Attire: Proper attire is required on the golf course and practice facility at all times. Clothing that is not permitted on the golf course or practice facility for both men and women would be tank tops, jeans, tennis or short shorts, and workout clothing. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this important matter.

SECURITY
HURRICANE SEASON BEGAN ON JUNE 1 AND WILL END ON NOVEMBER 30
MAKE A HURRICANE KIT WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A HURRICANE WATCH OR WARNING? If you decide to shelter in your own home, please make sure you have ample food, water, emergency lighting, etc., to hold you over until power is restored and it’s safe to travel in and about the community. Watch – A Hurricane Watch means hurricane conditions (sustained winds of at least 75 mph) are possible in the area within 48 hours. Warning – A Hurricane Warning means hurricane-force conditions (sustained winds of at least 74 mph) are expected in your area in 36 hours or less. Hurricanes and strong tropical storms can bring many hazards to Frenchman’s Creek and the surrounding area, whether they approach from the Gulf Coast, north, south or east. Each storm is different, and you must be prepared for any event whether it’s a bad thunderstorm, Tropical Storm or Hurricane. Be mindful of severe thunderstorm warnings. When a warning is issued, it means that the storms may be capable of producing damaging winds or large, destructive hail. Even if no warning is in effect, seek shelter immediately if threatening weather approaches And lastly, if you need any assistance, please contact the POA Office at 561-627-1467 . The POA Office and the Frenchman’s Creek Security Team are available 24/7 to help you in any way we can.
