POPULAR GLOBAL JUNE HOLIDAYS...

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY World Environment Day is held each year on June 5 . It is one of the principal vehicles through which the United Nations (UN) stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action. World Environment Day promotes ways to improve the Earth's environment , such as conserving forests. WORLD OCEANS DAY On June 8 , we celebrate the World Oceans Day , people around our blue planet celebrate and honor the ocean, which connects us all. Get together with your family, friends, community, and the planet to start creating a better future. A healthy world ocean is critical to our survival. Every year, World Oceans Day provides a unique opportunity to honor, help protect, and conserve our world’s shared ocean. INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice that evolved over thousands of years to embrace a wide range of styles and disciplines, aims to transform human body and mind. So, Yoga is an ascetic discipline which is practiced for good health and relaxation.

Men’s Health Month

June is Men’s Health Month — spread the word and make sure every loved male in your life is living well. 1. Early screenings! They will not only save money in the long run, but they can also save your life and/or make life easier to manage if diseases are caught early on. 2. Exercise, because it’s summertime! Why do you think most TV shows and football are off? So men can finally go out and move around. (Note: There is no true correlation between the summer broadcast schedule and exercise.) You shouldn’t need a reason to get at least 30 minutes of exercise in — help your heart and just do it. 3. Father’s Day is coming up! Why not give the father figure in your life the gift of knowledge along with your gift? There are many resources at www.menshealthnetwork.org(link is external) that will help educate you and your father about risks of prostate cancer and other diseases. 4. Keep reading the Men’s Health Net- work’s blog Talking About Men’s Health for the latest on how to improve and support men’s health.

5. Remember that anyone can assist in the men’s health movement, and help is not limited by gender. Anyone can be supportive and help men make that first step toward a better life. Everyone should be an ally!

Disaster doesn't plan ahead.

But YOU can!!

PRACTICE SUSTAINABILITY

Change your Focus

Focus is a choice. The runner who is concentrating

on how much his left toe hurts will be left in the

dust by the runner who is focusing on winning.

Even if the winner's toe hurts just as much.

Hurt, of course, is a matter of perception. Most of

what we think about is.

We have a choice about where to aim the lens of

our attention. We can relive past injustices, settle

old grudges and nurse festering sores. We can im-

agine failure, build up its potential for destruction,

calculate its odds. Or, we can imagine the

generous outcomes we're working on,

feel gratitude for those that got us here and

revel in the possibilities of what's next.

The focus that comes automatically, our in-

stinctual or cultural choice, that focus isn't the

only one that's available. Of course it's diffi-

cult to change it, which is why so few people

manage to do so. But there's no work that

pays off better in the long run.

Your story is your story. But you don't have to keep reminding yourself of your story, not if it

doesn't help you change it or the work you're doing.
