APRIL2023 FC LIFE

A Season of Great Entertainment! Andrea Ja y son Members of Frenchman’s Creek have had the benefit of memorable entertainment this season. From awesome Cabaret Nights and an awesome Studio 54 dance party to a spectacular line-up of Headliner events. Kicking off the Headliner events series was the return of the fantastic Bronx Wanderers direct from their Las Vegas residency. The staff outdid themselves with an excellent Italian-themed evening with delicious foods reminiscent of the Bronx, while the Bronx Wanderer had residents up and dancing in the aisles. The next super-star event was hosted by off-Broadway magic sensation Asi Wind. He astounded members with his unique and confounding array of tricks that left all of us wondering how on earth he did that! Dinner was an assort ment of unique and delicious hearty appetizers – the chef and staff once again did a great job! A saxophonist player accompanied the cocktail hour which created a fun and clubby vibe for members, and then an upbeat DJ ended the night with open bar and desserts being served on the Pavilion terrace. Jarrod Spector was next up on the Headliner calendar. A Broadway veteran from shows including Jersey Boys and Beautiful: the Carole King musical, among others, Spector entertained the club with his vast array of songs from Broad-way and beyond. The members enjoyed his “Jukebox Life” music that included songs from his past award winning performances to familiar hits from Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney. The food and staff did a great job in bringing this event to life! As a committee, one of our goals was to appeal to a wide variety of age groups and to bring all of us together. In the end, we know that we have an awesome community and we can agree that fun, creative and uplifting entertainment can really bridge the gap of our ages and diversity of opinions. We hope members enjoyed these Headliner events and look forward to bringing more unique and upbeat talent next season! On January 27, 2023, Frenchman’s Creek Beach Club welcomed a packed house to hear Suzanne O. Davis entertain us with her presentation of songs by Carole King. A pianist and flutist, Suzanne gave a terrific performance to a very ap-preciative crowd at our Cabaret evening. Chef Alex and his staff, with direction from manager Cindy and her assistant, Gina, presented a wonderful buffet of dinner foods that harkened back to what we thought Carole and her friends might love. Our fabulous staff made our evening a “ten”! We switched from music to comedy for our next Cabaret on February 27, with New York comedian Adam Ferrara performing for us. Adam’s professional experience spans the spectrum, from stand up comedy to television drama (Rescue Me) to reality TV (Top Gear). A special surprise was comedian Phil Tag, a friend of Adam’s, who gave a brief opening act. The dinner buffet featured foods from New York, including a wonderful selection of Chinese dishes (better that the best Chinese restaurants around here!), Italian dishes and other New York favorites. Again, our Chef Alex and his remarkable staff helped to make the evening memorable. Cindy, Gina and their staff are terrific! Jeri Jacobs & Barbara Field, co - chairs
