Dear Members: You are now getting your President’s Report from Long Beach Island in Southern New Jersey. Everything looks good here . . . except that we miss the Food Truck and Chef Ernesto’s daily deliver- ies. TO QUELL A RUMOR : There apparently have been numerous rumors circulating that when Mr. Gos- wami retires from Frenchman’s Creek, he will be replaced by a management company. I want to make it crystal clear that the entire Board of Governors is extremely pleased with Mr. Goswami’s performance, particularly his handling of the coronavirus threats. We are talking to him about his and the club’s future plans. He is not planning to leave any time soon and when he does retire, the Board has no intention of replacing him with a management company.
The Board held a scheduled meeting on June 26 th and an emergency meeting on July 1 st . Highlights from those meetings and reports from the various committees follow below. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S REPORT: Mr. Goswami, Executive Director reported that the Golf Course maintenance staff members are being tested for COVID-19 as a result of recent positive cases. He said that all staff members are now required to wear masks and we are encouraging all staff and contract labor (valet, housekeeping, etc.) to get tested. We are continuing to evaluate our Food & Beverage operations for social distancing. ELECTION POLLING SITE: Mr. Polselli, Assistant General Manager, reported that the Palm Beach County Super- visor has approved our request to change our polling location from the Main Clubhouse to the Sales Office. This will take effect for all future elections.
MEDICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE (Dr. Stewart Friedman, Chair): The Committee provided updates on COVID-19; the implementation of social distanc- ing measures taken by management in the din- ing areas; and rules relating to friends and family guests. In addition, when necessary, this Commit- tee has been providing updates to keep the community aware of changes required by changing health situations. • As cases of the virus have arisen, the com- mittee’s recommendations have been ad- justed and communicated to the communi- ty. • Only outdoor dining will be permitted at the Beach Club, The Sports Bar and the pool. • The 19 th Hole closed for breakfast, lunch and dinner on July 2 nd . • The Food Truck will remain available for breakfast and lunch.

• Temperature taking will be mandatory when members enter the Sports Bar and the Beach Club for dinner. • Table seating will be limited to 4 people. Tables for 6 will be limited to family mem- bers only. • “Table hopping” will not be permitted. • In any food and beverage outlet (absent a legal exception), all members must wear facial coverings except while actively con- suming food and/ or drink. This means you must wear facial coverings when entering, exiting, or visiting the restroom. Members must maintain 6 feet of social distancing whenever possible, including when waiting for tables. • By order of Palm Beach County, facial cov- erings must be worn when entering any public facility, including the clubhouse and any dining venues. Members who feel ill or, as a result of undergoing a Covid test due to symptoms or possible exposure, are not permitted to utilize any club amenities (golf, tennis, Beach Club, or dining venues) until they receive a negative test result. Sanitary procedures (fogging, UV lights, etc.) in the clubhouse will remain in full force and all clubhouse and outdoor staff will be re- quired to wear masks at all times and observe social distancing. All staff including seasonal employees have been encouraged to quar- antine when necessary and be tested for the Covid-19 virus. everyone to stay safe and remember: • Wear facial covering at all times when in a public space. • Avoid close contact with people. • Cover your mouth and nose when cough- ing or sneezing. • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. • CONTINUOUS HAND WASHING THROUGHOUT THE DAY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN DO TO STOP THE SPREAD OF INFEC- TION. The Medical Advisory Committee urges
CLUBHOUSE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE UPDATE (Michael Azeez, Chair): Both the New and Renovation Subcom- mittees are working to finalize their designs. The Temporary Facilities Subcommittee is working to analyze the use of a shell that could be part of a spa expansion and the use of traditional tents and trailers or both, depending on costs and timing. There are many moving parts, but the Oversight Committee will have a plan to pre- sent to the community in the Fall that will allow the community to make an informed decision. PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT AD HOC COMMITTEE UPDATE (Larry Kleinberg, Chair): Mr. Kleinberg, Chair of the Committee to Study Development of the Common Area Lots, made an informative presentation of the po- tential lots for home development. After the presentation, it was suggested that due to the importance of the information presented, that another meeting be scheduled to give the Board more time to discuss and consider the matter. FINANCE REPORT (Jonathan Nelson, Chair): For the first month of the fiscal year end- ed May 31, 2020, the Community had a posi- tive variance compared to budget of $58K. The Club and POA income were favorable to budget by $6K and $52K, respectively. While both the Main Clubhouse and the Beach Club were shut down for almost all of May due to the pandemic and Food & Beverage revenues were limited to take out, food services contin- ued to be popular with revenues of over $240K. Other savings factors such as limiting overtime, lower costs for member services and timing for POA projects contributed to the association’s successful month. During the month of May, two homes were sold to new members and in June we had three additional sales to new members. We currently have four sales with contracts pending to new members . . . off to a very good start in the new fiscal year! NEW MEMBERSHIPS:

INSURANCE COMMITTEE REPORT (Alan Fuirst, Chair & Norman Barham, Vice-Chair): Since experts are predicting an active hurricane season and our hurricane deductible is substantial, the Committee has asked the Fi- nance Committee to look at creating a Hurri- cane Reserve Fund. MARKETING COMMITTEE REPORT (Michael Eigner & Steven Bernstein, Co-Chairs): The Marketing Committee met on June 9 th . Highlights of their discussions include the following: • Club Promotions of waterway homes/ Beach Club. • Marketing will produce videos to incorporate into the existing website. • Realtor waterway tours. • What is new in amenities where you travel? Committee members should bring back ideas for future amenities and services from their summer travels. • COVID-19: How can we capitalize on the level of service FC has provided during the pandemic; get the word out! • BLOG articles – monthly in season and bi- weekly June-October. • Begin planning for a new website. SECURITY UPDATE (Fred Corvo, Security Direc- tor): Together with Allied Universal (the com- pany which provides security personnel and technical services for our perimeter camera network and security data services) we have analyzed and evaluated our perimeter vulnera- bility and have designed solutions to strengthen our security profile. We have received information from local law enforcement agencies and other gated communities about a rash of vehicle and home burglaries. Our security staff has been made aware of these incidents and have been placed on high alert, paying special attention to our perimeter.
Frenchman’s Creek prides itself on its security and we are requesting all homeown- ers to assist us during these difficult times. We are asking our community to be extra vigilant, take all necessary precautions and assist us in being proactive by keeping your homes and vehicles locked at all times. Never leave your keys in your cars and when you leave your house or retire for the evening, lock the doors and set your alarm. Security will be closing the resident lanes each evening at 10:00 p.m. and in- specting every home in the community each night to ensure that all cars are in the garage and garage doors are closed. We are main- taining an open line of communication with every law enforcement agency in our immedi- ate area and also monitoring all security inci- dents in nearby gated communities. FOOD & BEVERAGE COMMITTEE UPDATE (Ellen Levine, Chair): A ZOOM meeting was held on June 10th; the following items were discussed: • The committee agreed to send a “Letter of Appreciation” to Management and the Food & Beverage staff. • The community is pleased with the services and daily specials provided by the Food Truck. • The Sports Bar is open for breakfast, lunch & Dinner; members are being patient and adjusting to the “new normal.” • The 19th Hole is closed. • The Beach Club is open for outside lunch and dinner and getting positive member feedback. Reservations are being taken for dinner to control the flow and maintain social distancing. • New ideas, concepts and suggestions for the future were discussed. These discus- sions will continue at future meetings be- ginning in the fall.

• The Food & Beverage department is devel- oping next season’s calendar with special menus to encourage members to cele- brate the holidays at home. The virus roars on and we must all remain extremely cautious so that we can protect each other and our families, especially now that many of us have left FC for the summer. The Board is not stopping our communications and in fact, have scheduled an extra Board Meeting for July 23 rd . I am working very hard to stay up on my stand-up paddle board and maintain social distancing from our children and grandchildren who have been in residence in my beach house for the last month!
