HARILYN and ED ZIMMERMAN celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary,this past summer, in France with their entire family. It included Paris and a river cruise down the Rhone River. They stopped at Lyon, Arles and ending in Avignon. “What an amazing time we all had,” declared Harilyn.

Ehud Barak, former Prime Minister of Israel from 1999- 2001, who had commanded the country's elite special forces unit, was the joint most decorated soldier in Israeli history and rose to IDF chief of staff, is a long time friend of mine who has recently published a remarkable book about his life titled "My Country, My Life" (St. Martin's Press). In my e-mail to him and his wife Nili, congratulating him on his wonderful book, I also wrote about the Paradise we enjoy in Frenchman's Creek and invited them to see it if they were ever in this area. It turned out that they were available on September 29th and LORETTA and I had the pleasure of dining with them at the Beach Club after drinks at the

Sports Bar. It was a perfect evening enhanced by our attentive staff led by Cindy Teyssedou. In her e-mail afterwards thanking us, Nili acknowledged that Frenchman's Creek did indeed appear to be a Paradise. Incidentally, the Barak's went on to New York City from here where our grandson, Matt Hooper, was able to do a two hour video interview of Mr. Barak based on his life experiences as reflected in his memoirs. It is being edited and will be published in various forums that Matt works in.
