November Newsletter
GOLF
Dear Frenchman’s Creek Members, Welcome back!! What a great time of the year it is; the weather hopefully will be turning a little cooler soon, and many of your fellow members and friends have returned for the season. November is also a month in which we really kick off the season with many opening events. Wednesday, November 8 , is Men’s Opening Day. This event is an (A, B, C, D format + Staff), sign up online, and the golf staff will make the pairing. The format is Step Aside Scramble, 8:30 am shotgun start, followed by lunch. On Monday, November 13 , we will hold our 6th Annual Veteran’s Day golf event. Last year, we had over 200 members, both Men and Ladies, participate, and best of all, we donated 100% of the entry fee (slightly over $30,000) to the Fisher House. This year, we plan on making the event bigger and better, and we need your help; 100% of the proceeds will go to Veteran suicide prevention, so please mark your calendars for this special day. A foursome can be comprised of all Men, all Ladies, or Mixed, and will be flighted accordingly and may be made online via the Frenchman’s Creek App. Tuesday, November 28 , is the Ladies Member/Staff Golf Event. This year’s event is a make-your-own foursome, and the golf professionals will assign a staff member. This event is an 8:30 am shotgun for 18-hole ladies and a 10:30 am shotgun for 9-hole ladies. Lunch for all participants wlll follow play at 12:30 pm. Registration can be made online through the Frenchman’s Creek App. We look forward to seeing everyone around the Links!!! Golf Cart Use Reminders Cart Sharing Requirements
During the season and as stated in the Club’s Rules and Regulations, no more than two golf carts may be used when playing in a threesome or foursome, and no more than one golf cart when playing in a twosome. Anyone recovering from an airborne illness in which they believe they have not entirely recovered should respect their fellow members and staff that they could potentially affect and not play until they are 100 percent healthy. One-off requests for special dispensations will not be granted this season. Medical Flags Effective December 1, all previously issued medical flags will expire. Players who want to extend their Medical Flag privileges (which offer relaxed on course cart parking rules) must reapply for a 2024 Flag at the Golf Shop or the Starter Shack (next to the practice putting green). A valid state-issued Disabled Person Parking Permit Certificate (or Placard) must be presented to obtain a new Medical Flag. General Rules No golf cart shall be driven within ten (10) yards of the outer edge of a green, tee box, or greenside bunker. Soft Areas on fairways shall also be avoided, especially after rains, and we strongly encourage members and guests to use the cart paths and roughs whenever possible.
