GOLF

Dear Members, Welcome back!! It is a great time of the year; the weather will hopefully be a little cooler soon, and many of your fellow members and friends have returned for the season. November is also a month in which we kick off the season with many opening events. The Men’s Opening Day was held on October 26th, and 116 men participated. The weather was perfect, the pace of play was less than 4 hours, and the food and beverage team served a great lunch afterward in the Pavilion. Hopefully, this is a precursor for how all the golf events go this season. Friday, November 4 and Monday, November 7 , is the Men’s Presidents Cup. This is a 2-person team event, 8:30 shotgun both days. Round 1 is better ball of partners, and round 2 is Chapman (Alternate Shot). Contact the Golf Shop to sign up or for more details. Friday, November 11, we will be holding our 5th annual Veteran’s day golf event. Last year we had over 200 members, both Men, and Ladies, participate, and best of all, we donated 100% of the entry fee (slightly over $30,000) to the Fisher

House. This year we plan on making the event bigger and better, and we need your help, 100% of the proceeds with go to help Homeless Veterans so please mark your calendars for this special day. Wednesday, November 16 (This is a date change) Open round of the season-long Men’s ladder event. This will be a 2-person partners event and a single elimination event. This event will be flighted by combined handicaps. After the opening matches on the 16th, competitors will schedule their matches within a defined time period. Friday, November 18 is the season’s first Nine, Wine, and Dine event. This is a make-your-own foursome event, followed by dinner. Shotgun start at 3:15 pm. Contact the golf shop to register. Health and Happiness,

J.R. Congdon Director of Golf jrcongdon@frenchmanscreek.com (561) 622-1620

Golf Cart Use Reminders Cart Sharing Requirements

Per the Club’s Rules and Regulations, during the season no more than two golf carts may be used when playing in a threesome or foursome, and no more than one golf cart when playing in a twosome. Please be advised that due to that significantly improved public health environment with respect to Covid-19 transmission and infection, medical waivers related to this rule will not be granted this year. Medical Flags Effective January 1, all previously issued medical flags will expire. Players who would like to extend their Medical Flag privileges (which offer relaxed on-course cart parking rules) must reapply for a 2023 Flag (bearing a distinctive new color scheme) at the Golf Shop or the Starter Shack (next to the practice putting green). A valid state-issued Disabled Person Parking Permit Certificate (or Placard) must presented to obtain a new Medical Flag. General Rules No golf cart shall be driven within ten (10) yards of the outer edge of a green or tee or a greenside bunker. Soft Areas on fairways shall also be avoided, especially after rains, and we strongly encourage members and guests to maximize use the cart paths and roughs whenever possible. We look forward to seeing everyone around the Links!!!
