June Newsletter 2024
One area of concern on the South Course that has been previously addressed, is the fluid leak on two, four, and six South greens. With an aging equipment fleet, leaks are a possibility, but this should not have made it past one green. We have been working to remove and repair select areas. Given the strong growing conditions we are experiencing, we can expect that these areas will no longer be noticeable in a short amount of time. In the interim, we will do our best to limit any playability disruption. We are appreciative of the club’s commitment to improve this situation through an investment in updated equipment. This equipment, which is expected to arrive in early 2025, will be driven by electric reel motors as opposed to hydraulic reels. This will drastically reduce the number of potential points of failure and potential leaks.
For those that we have the pleasure of seeing throughout the summer, we look forward to presenting the best possible playing conditions on the South and a fruitful closure on the North. For those that will be spending the summer outside of Florida, we wish you the safest of travels and a wonderful summer. We look forward to a productive summer that will lay the groundwork for a great golf season in 2024 and 2025. Thank you, William Schmit Director of Agrononomy
