OUR CIVIC SIDE OF FRENCHMAN’S CREEK Our collaborative beach clean up with the JUNO BEACH CIVIC ASSOCIATION began on Saturday morning, January 20, at 8 am at the Beach Club. Along with numerous Juno Beach residents, more than 35 of our members and staff were given plastic bags, blue for recyclables and clear for trash, and plastic gloves, and off we went. Too bad if you weren't there because it was a gorgeous morning with the sun just rising over a quiet ocean. Lots of sea birds hunting for food and shells everywhere. Not too much trash, but our Purchasing Manager Sonja Stumpf found a refrigerator door, leaving many of us to wonder what happened to the rest of the boat. Otherwise it was mostly bottle caps and plastic forks and knives stuck in the seaweed. We cleaned for about an hour and returned to the Beach Club to an absolute feast which included smoked salmon, quiches, frittatas and quesadillas, and so much more!! There were some prizes and speeches by our partners from the Juno Beach Civic Association, represented by Donna Hamilton and Jeri Glynn. Juno Beach Vice Mayor Peggy Wheeler and Councilwoman DD Halpern attended, as well as our Executive Director, Miles, and Assistant General Manager, Bernie, who brought his wife, Gwen, and their granddaughter. Also attending were several staff members from almost every department from Frenchman ’ s Creek all attending on their day off. Many thanks to our great Marketing team and Cindy Teyssedou and her team at the Beach Club for organizing and supporting the event. We had such a good time. We hope to do it again in the Spring. Please plan to attend next time! NORMA LIPPMAN
