GOLF
Dear Members, I trust that everyone had a joyous holiday season and spent quality time with their children and grandchildren. Seeing all the families enjoying their time at Frenchman’s Creek was nice. Now that we are entering January, our golf tournament activity will start in earnest. One of the things new to all of you this season is that all our events are available via online registration, which provides all the necessary entry information, adds guest information for Member-Guest events, and allows members to view who is participating. Members are always encouraged to contact the golf shop for additional assistance. Also new this season is the introduction of the Foretee’s tee time system. We believe that the membership will find Foretee’s to be very user-friendly, with more options for booking tee times, and it can be easily accessed through the Frenchman’s Creek App or on the website. Below is a list of major upcoming golf events for January, which you should circle on your calendars. WHAT IS A VETTING PROCESS? Communities use a vetting process to evaluate an applicant’s background and qualifications, eliminate unqualified candidates and deny access to our community to those unqualified applicants. It can include background checks, phone screens, in-person assessments, and interviews. The vetting process establishes trust between Frenchman’s Creek security and its vendors. In addition, it starts an ongoing dialogue about managing risks, which lasts for as long as a person holds a Frenchman’s Creek identification. One of Frenchman’s Creek Security’s primary responsibilities is to ensure the safety of our members and guest. Every day, the security staff here at Frenchman’s Creek controls access to the community and monitors the safety of our roadways. FRENCHMAN’S CREEK SECURITY VETTING PROCESS MESSAGE FROM SECURITY FRENCHMAN’S CREEK IDENTIFICATION CARD RULES: 1. Applicants must possess a permanent Frenchman’s Creek ID card if they provide service more than once yearly. 2. Applicants who drive on Frenchman’s Creek property must possess and provide a valid driver’s license and register as a vehicle operator. 3. All non-drivers must provide a copy of a valid government-issued ID card or valid passport with a photo. 4. Applicants with a felony conviction or plea (guilty, adjudication withheld, no contest, etc.) within the past five years must meet with the Director of Security for approval. 5. Applicants with a history of violent crime in the past will be required to meet with the Director of Security for approval. 6. Applicants with a history of theft, burglary, etc. in the past will also be required to meet with the Director of Securityfor approval. 7. The Director of Security and the Assistant Director of Security will have final authority to accept or deny an applicant’s access to Frenchman’s Creek property. The security staff at Frenchman’s Creek appreciates our member’s attention to detail in this matter. Understanding why we place our vendors through a vetting process is essential for our progress in promoting safety. As we continue through these unprecedented times, establishing a vetting process for vendors will promote the safety and Security expected within our community. Please contact me directly if you have any questions or would like further information by calling

Ladies Member - Staff Golf Tournament Mimi Bergel
The Frenchman ’ s Creek Ladies golf season again experienced a lovely and successful day, both weath erwise and event wise. Tuesday, November 28 was the Ladies Member - Staff Golf Tournament, which was played by both eighteen holers and nine holers, and again filled both courses. The eighteen holers played on the North course and the nine holers played on the South course. Each foursome that signed up was as signed a staff member to play with them. The format was a step - aside scramble, with one drive required of each player, and using the best net score on each hole. Following golf was a great buffet luncheon at the Pavilion, which offered a choice of soups, a very ex tensive salad bar, a slider bar, main dishes, followed by a large dessert buffet. As usual, Martina and the en tire food and beverage staff did a super job. To repeat – it was a lovely day. Women ’ s Eclectic Tournament The first Ladies ’ Day major tournament of the season was held Tuesday and Thursday December 5 and 7. It was the Eclectic consisting of a 2 person team. JESPY will also expand and enhance its program and service space, including recreational, health and wellness, technology, clinical, and work readiness. The significance of the gift highlights the importance of the Go Big Campaign to the Myers Family. The Myers ’ s $1 million donation will be matched by the Cooperman Family ’ s $13.25 mil- lion pledge made earlier this year. “ Through our donation, we are proud to support JESPY ’ s Go Big Campaign and its incredible efforts to create additional resi- dential options and programs to serve the important needs of JESPY ’ s aging population for many years to come, ” shared the Myers Family. “ We further hope that our leadership gift will inspire others to recognize the importance of this effort and join in support of JESPY ’ s bold vision to expand its programs and services for its clients. ” “ We are so thankful for the Myers Family ’ s incredible generosity, ” exclaimed Audrey Winkler, JESPY ’ s Executive Director. How a small gesture of a small apartment house , 4 clients and a vision to have these adults (starting at 21years of age) have a safe environment that also supported , encouraged and provided the opportunities for them to maintain a sense of independence throughout their lives., bloomed into 6 houses 300 adults and now a campaign to build an all inclusive HUB and provide for 65 more adults. This is the only facility like it in the country. How more impressive that Helene and Marty and a few friends gave concept to this project. Starting with four clients, JESPY now serves over 300 adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. “ We are thrilled with the accomplishments and growth that JESPY has achieved, ” expressed Marty and Helene. “ We are proud of the mouarnsyulcicveesssJfEuSl PmYohdaesl.positively impacted and we hope that JESPY will inspire other communities around the world to follow ” JOErSaPnYgeH, oNueswe hJeerlspesym. Committed to JESPY ’ s sustainability, Helene and Marty later established The Helene Myers JESPY Endowment Fund to support JESPY ’ s mission and clients well into the future. The Fund is managed by JESPY and is dedicated to ensuring the financial health and stability of JESPY to allow for responsible growth and long - term resilience. About the Myers Family continued SANDY BOBB AND HER FAMILY had the honor of chairing the 2023 ADL in Concert Against Hate at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
