FC Life May 2020

CAROL and MORT CORWIN are very proud of their daughter-in-law, Jennifer Rosner, whose first fictional book “ The Yellow Bird Sings,” was reviewed in the New York Times, May 10, 2020. Jenifer graduated Columbia University and received her PHD. from Stanford University. She herself is the mother of two daughters. The book is about a mother and her daughter hiding during the holocaust. As the New York Times review said, “Her book proves there is always going to be room for another story about World War II.” The story is set in Poland and how she hides with her daughter after the rest of the family has been murdered. It shows how she teaches her daughter, a musical prodigy to read and hear music while in hiding and what occurs after she decides to leave their hiding

place. The review ends with, “This is an absolutely beautiful and necessary novel, full of heartbreak but also hope, about the bond between mother and daughter, and the sacrifices made for love.”

We are so grateful for our Staff

On one of my many evening walks down Frenchman’s Creek Drive, I couldn't help wondering how long this light could hang on before falling on one of our members! I quickly took this picture and sent it to Andrew Taylor in Engineering. I received an immediate response and a thank you. The very next day it was taken care of before any mishap could occur. We are so fortunate to live in this wonderful community where everything is taken care of with a smile.

Thanks, Andrew!
