GIRL’S NIGHT OUT “AMERICAN BANDSTAND”

By Marleen Hacker

Girl’s Night Out was held on Thursday, April 28, beginning at 4pm with a nine hole scramble. Seventy five women, including Stacey Collins from the Pro Shop, made their own four some, and were greeted with drinks and a “goody box” of snacks. Following golf, the ladies enjoyed a wonderful buffet dinner, with Chef Bernd’s special touches. Many thanks to Martina and her staff, who decorated the main dining room with the theme of the night- “American Bandstand”. After dinner, the real fun began. We all danced the night away with a fabulous DJ, and his dancers, who got everyone on the dance floor, including our guests, Susie and Sierra from POA. Kudos to Board Member Sandi Lamm and her co chair Susan Katz and their committee, who did a super job of planning and organizing. Also thanks to the Pro Shop for arranging the golf and staying late. What a great way to officially end the FCLGA season and say goodbye to our golfing friends. Here are a few remarks from some our members. ` Sandi Lamm “We had a fabulous turn out. Thanks to everyone for making this the best Girl’s Night Out ever”.

Ellen Goldstein “It was great. I really hope we do this next year”.

Lyla Zucker “ It was a lovely evening”.

Eleanor Newman “It was so much fun. I didn’t want to leave. Can’t wait to come back”.

Jeri Jacobs “ The music was great. I loved it”.

What is this truck doing at Frenchman's Creek!

I passed this 18 wheeler on Rivoli Drive and stopped to take a picture. The driver waved so I went around and asked him some questions. Turns out he was putting about 1,000 headsize Triploid (sterile) grass carp into our waterways to eat the grasses and other vegetable matter. He said they come once or twice each year. DR. ROBERT GLEIBER had his 3rd Hole-In-One on Saturday, June 24, 2017.

It was on the second hole of North, playing at 165 yards.

Bob used a 9 wood. Also, Dr. Burt Greenberg was with him for all the holes-in -one! Think that is his lucky charm.

The sign up chart went up weeks ago and on June 16, seven women plus JR Congdon and Rich Lucchini showed up to play. The par 3 course is located in Palm Beach, south of Southern Boulevard. It is right on the ocean and the setting is beyond beautiful. There is an excellent restaurant where we had a lovely lunch. In addition, there were many other clubs participating and our group teed off in the afternoon.

We hit our Tee shots just before the first clap of thunder, left our balls behind and went in. They don't have radar or an alarm siren so it was a judgment call, and it turned out, a good one, as the rain and thunder continued. So, everybody packed up their clubs and went home. We were thrilled to have traveled in a really nice new mini-bus ( pictured above), driven by a man named Robert. In the picture you see Norma Lippman, Sharon Strongin, JR , Judy Goldsmith, Sharon Rochlin, Rich and Merel Cherry . Nancy Berkley and Christina Monacelli came in their own cars. We did get rain checks and hope to try again another day. It was fun! History of Salt Therapy Modern day salt therapy has its origins from the salt mines and caves in Europe and Russia. As the workers were mining the salt, micro-sized salt particles were being disbursed into the air. In 1843, Polish physician Felix Boczkowski discovered that men working in the salt mines suffered fewer respiratory problems than the general population and had better overall health.

So enjoy our new salt room and relax, breathe and recline and enjoy the inhalation of the dry salt aerosol and find tranquility in the calming environment.

PEGGY USDAN is thrilled to be a GIGI, Great Grandmother. Her great granddaughter, named Eva, is the daughter of Joanna and Michael Breitman who live in Long Island, New York.

Out of the mouths of babes, PAULA and NEIL WOLFSON’S grandson Kyle who at ten years of age was walking with his mother and mentioned his plans for the future. He was going to live at Frenchman’s Creek and be like Pa Neil and spoil his grandchildren. Good luck, Kyle!

BETTE GOLDBERG reports that her son, Michael Zorn, a professional photographer based in the Philadelphia area, worked the Tony’s this year. Michael, who has worked with Bruce Springsteen and Lionel Richie, also does family events.

DONNA HART would like to extend hers and IRWIN’S ,” Thank You,” to all the members of Frenchman’s Creek who have inquired about Irwin’s health. He had a hip replacement due to a fall and is coming along nicely and hopes to be playing golf soon!

There is a publication, “Spotlight,” that purports to be solely for the residents of Frenchman’s Creek Beach and Country Club and gives the inclination it has Frenchman’s Creek’s endorsement, it does not! We are a low key community and would never use our name to solicit advertising dollars. Our strategic plan since inception has been one of community harmony and congeniality. Our brand speaks for itself within and outside our walls. I have been approached by many members who are not happy with this “Spotlight” publication and the implications it presents. There is freedom of speech but you also have the right to say you do not want to receive a publication. Please email the publisher with your wishes to be taken off their mailing list with just your address no name necessary. E-mail address is Jake.Packard@n2pub.com If you do not want to do this please call or e-mail myself, Anita Fishbein, Terri Sackett, or the POA office and we will e-mail the publisher your wishes to be taken off their mailing list, just your address( not your name).
