Creek Ball is a racquet sport that off the-beaten-path tennis enthusiasts enjoy—particularly because the Har Tru clay surfaces offer different playing experiences. The speed and bounce of the ball add a new strategic element to the game. Played at Frenchman’s Creek for nearly a decade, Creek Ball provides a unique twist for club members. Let’s review the details that make this proprietary racquet sport enjoyable. Court Size and Layout Dimensions: The court size and layout for Creek Ball are identical to those of a standard pickleball court. This includes the same dimensions for the net and playing area.

Surface: Unlike the hard surfaces typically used for pickleball, Creek Ball is played on a Har Tru (clay) surface. This provides a different playing experience, affecting the speed and bounce of the ball and adding a new strategic element to the game.

Equipment Ball: Creek Ball uses a “red dot” ball, which is a larger-sized tennis ball commonly used for teaching children. This ball is softer and slower than a regular tennis ball, making it easier to control and play with. Paddle: Instead of the standard pickleball paddle, Creek Ball players use a beach tennis paddle. These paddles are typically made of materials like carbon fiber or fiberglass, and they offer a different feel and play style compared to pickleball paddles.
