2023 - 2024 Couples Member Guest Tournament This season ’ s Couples Member - Guest Golf Tournament was a lot more than just a golf tournament. With a theme of Viva Las Vegas, it was quite an occasion and had a record breaking participation as well. After registration and brunch at the Pavilion, there was a shotgun start as foursomes with guests from so many clubs went out on both courses. The format was a best ball shamble, counting best gross and net scores for each hole. There were additional prizes for closest to the pin on four different par 3 holes for lady members and guests and gentleman members and guests. After golf the décor at the Pavilion welcomed everyone with big dice and card blocks and tables and couches like a Vegas lounge. All golfers received a gift of a hybrid club of choice. There was an archway cov ered with cards and tables with glittering gold cloths and centerpieces with flowers and cards and feathers. The buffet set up on the porch was fantastic and delicious, including a raw bar, artisan table, extensive pasta stations and a design your own pasta station, beef, pork, chicken, seafood and vegetable stations, as well as a dessert station. As if the day was not active enough, there was also a casino evening with a craps table, six blackjack tables, a three card poker table and a roulette table. Everyone gambled with fake money. Many thanks to those who put so much effort into a great day – Tournament Chair Grace Drusinsky, Martina and her food and beverage staff and JR, Will and Stacy and the pro shop and golf staffs. They contributed to a super and memorable day. Second 2023 - 2024 Ladies Member - Guest Invitational The second Ladies Member - Guest Invitational was another great success, filling both courses with members and 76 guests from 43 different clubs. The theme was “ Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory ”, and many members and guests dressed in outfits to fit the theme – some as chocolates. Greeting everyone was Willy Wonka and Oompa Loompa. Each player received a miniature clock for the golf cart with “ Hope you enjoyed your time with us ” messages, gloves with candy printed patterns and a Bushnell Wingman GPS Speaker. After registration and a lovely brunch, golfers played an eighteen hole best ball shamble format. There were four flights, with two on each course, with prizes on each for low gross and first, second and third low net scores. In addi tion, there were prizes in each flight for the straightest drive on the first hole, and drives closest to the pin on differen t par three holes for members and guests in each flight. Following golf was another wonderful meal in a beautifully decorated Pavilion. As was quoted, “ Golfers came into a scrumptious small plate wonderland of food. ” So many choices, as well as a lovely buffet table with so many varied and delicious desserts. Thanks so much to co - chairs Judy Konigsberg and Dottie Kovel and their committee, Martina and the superb chefs and the food and beverage staff, and Stacy and JR and the golf staff. Everyone contributed to a memorable day.
