I formed this Committee in April of 2023 to provide non sport Activities open to all members. I had done some research and found that less than 500 of the 1100 members played sports on a consistent basis. So the question was what was being offered to the rest of the community. There were clubs but they were private so access was by invitation only. In May, with the help of the marketing department, a survey was sent to all members listing 25 Activities and asking them to rate their interest in participating from 1 to 10. In the first 10 days we received 255 responses. Because this survey was anonymous we then had to come up with a way to contact the members directly. Therefore, on November 9th, 2023, we held our first ever Activities Fair at the Pavilion. We had tables, manned by members, so a resident could come and register their interest in over the 20 Activities being offered. Currently we are running 17 Activities which are OPENED TO ALL MEMBERS. Over 200 members are participating. They are: Duplicate Bridge, Movie Night, Concert Night, Authors Night, Cooking Club, Book Talks, Excursions, Pot Luck Dinners, Card Parties, Men's Discussion Group, Women's Discussion Group, Walking Group, Dog Lovers, Shooting Club, Car Club, Mahjong and Canasta. These activities are not individual committees. They all fall under the Activities Committee of which I am the Chairman. Individual members of the Community who sign up to join the FC Activity Committee then spearhead/run one of the numerous activities they have a particular interest in. For example, the Cooking Club is run by Robert Ellinger and Carolyn Kotler, the Shooting Club is run by Jay Kaltman, Excursions by Carol Mendez, and so on. The heads of each activity then coordinate/ communicate with me.

Our Committee is always looking to develop other groups/clubs based upon members interests. For anyone with a suggestion all they need to do is contact me to get the 'ball rolling'!
