Fred Corvo - Director of Security

HOW DO WE ENFORCE SPEED LIMITS IN OUR COMMUNITY? We have several mobile radar devices that we place every day throughout the community. These devices record the speed each vehicle is traveling at, and take photos of all vehicles traveling over the speed limit of the community (25 mph). We greatly appreciate the efforts of all residents and vendors to maintain a safe speed while on property, especially during the holiday season, with guest and family members. Our mission is not to be punitive, but to stop motorist from speeding for the safety of all of the members in the community. IS FRENCHMAN’S CREEK DRIVE AND TOURNAMENT DRIVE ONE OR TWO LANES ? These two roadways are SINGLE LANE roads. They are very wide to accommodate pedestrians, cyclists, golf carts, maintenance personnel or security/emergency vehicles. Vehicles should travel in the center of the roadways until they need to move over to accommodate for pedestrians, cyclists, golf carts, maintenance personnel or security/emergency vehicles. There is NO PASSING LANE on Frenchman’s Creek roadways.

DO PEDESTRIANS WALK FACING TRAFFIC?

The safe way to walk is facing traffic so you have a visual of the cars ahead of you. Please remember, and remind all guests, that pedestrians walk facing traffic on the curb side of the road and cyclists ride with traffic while on property. Security staff will be educating guests they encounter walking or cycling in the wrong direction to keep us all on the same page. These encounters typically occur during the holiday season, when guests and relatives are present and are either unaware of the rules or forgot about them.
