Notary Public Services at the POA Our licensed professional notary public services are here at the POA Office to make life easier. Once your documents are notarized, we will help you make any necessary copies and send them where they need to go. Why do documents need to be notarized? A notary public acts as an impartial third-party witness to not only the signature of a document, but also that all parties who signed a document did so willingly and under their own free will. Be Prepared and Ready to have your documents notarized. 1. Schedule an Appointment at the POAOffice at (561) 627-1467. 2. Bring a valid, government issued photo IDwith you when you visit the POAOffice for notary services. 3. Laws vary by state and some documents may require witnesses in addition to the notarization. In most cases, the notary cannot act as a witness. Duties of a Notary Public Notaries are authorized by law to perform six basic duties: • Administer oaths or affirmations • Take acknowledgments • Attest to photocopies of certain documents • Solemnize marriage • Verify vehicle identification num- bers (VINs) • Certify the contents of a safe-de- posit box
