GOLF
Dear Members, Welcome back! What a great time of the year it is; the weather hopefully will be turning a little cooler soon and many of your fellow members and friends have returned for the season. November is also a month in which we really kick off the season with many opening events. On Tuesday, November 2, the Frenchman’s Creek Ladies Golf Association will host their Opening Day golf event. The format will be a nine-hole event, in an A, B, C, D format. Following golf, the opening meeting and luncheon will be held on the driving range. On Wednesday, November 3, the Club will be hosting the Men’s Opening Day golf event. This is an A, B, C, D event with pairings made by the golf shop. This event is open to all men members of the Club and we will have both 18 hole and 9-hole divisions. Upon the conclusion of play, lunch we be served on the main range tee. The first Nine, Wine and Dine of the season will be held on Friday, November 5. This is a make-your-own-foursome event, and the format is scramble. Dinner options will be available following play. On Thursday, November 11, we will be holding our 4th annual Veteran’s day golf event. We have an 18 hole and 9-hole division. One hundred percent of the $125 entry fee will be donated to the Fisher House, which provides complimentary accommodations to family members that have a Veteran relative in the hospital. Checks should be made out to the West Palm Beach VA. Lunch and prizes will be distributed on the driving range, following play. DEMO DAYS On Thursday, November 4, we will be conducting a Callaway fitting day. Callaway will be introducing the Epic Max Star. On Thursday, November 15, XXIO will be conducting their fitting day. Hopefully you can join us for these exciting events, and as always, my door is open for suggestions and comments. Health and Happiness.

COMMUNITY SAFETY FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS SECURITY
WHAT IS A TRAFFIC HAWK? The Traffic Hawk Speed Enforcement System has been a great tool to reduce the amount of speeding on the property. The speed limit in the community is 25 mph . We greatly appreciate the efforts of all residents and vendors to maintain a safe speed while driving on property, especially during the holiday season, with guests and family members. IS FRENCHMAN’S CREEK DRIVE AND TOURNAMENT DRIVE ONE OR TWO LANES ? These two roadways are SINGLE LANE roads. They are very wide to accommodate pedestrians, cyclists, golf carts, maintenance personnel or security/emergency vehicles. Vehicles should travel in the center of the roadways until they need to move over to accommodate for pedestrians, cyclists, golf carts, maintenance personnel or security/emergency vehicles. There is NO PASSING LANE on Frenchman’s Creek roadways. DO PEDESTRIANS WALK FACING TRAFFIC?
The safe way to walk is facing traffic so you have a visual of the cars ahead of you. Please remember, and remind all guests, that pedestrians walk facing traffic on the curb side of the road and cyclists ride with traffic while on property. Security staff will be educating guests they encounter walking or cycling in the wrong direction to keep us all on the same page. These encounters typically occur during the holiday season, when guests and relatives are present and are either unaware of the rules or forgot about them.

WHAT ARE THE TOP 3 GOLF CART SAFETY CONCERNS? #1 - Underage drivers driving carts In order to keep our children and/or grandchildren safe, it is extremely important they have a driver’s license prior to being allowed to drive a golf cart on property. Should we encounter underage or non-licensed golf cart drivers, we will have them park the cart, provide them transportation to their destination and contact the resident. Please help us by educating your guests and family members of this very important rule. #2 - Overloading Golf Carts and children standing on the back of carts We understand that during the holidays, you may have a large number of family and/or friends visiting at your home. We are all thankful for the opportunity for family and friends to visit. However, this can create situations where you may not have enough golf carts for family/friends to travel on property. We encourage you to contact the golf shop ahead of time and rent a cart while your family/ friends are in town. This helps reduce the situation where guests overload a golf cart to travel on property. Many bad things can happen with children sitting on the laps of adults or standing on the back of carts while driving down the road. You may transport as many people on your cart as can be
seated with their backside safely on the seat. #3 - Golf Carts not stopping at STOP Signs
This is a situation where the person driving the golf cart will pay the ultimate price, financially and possibly, physically. When a golf cart does not stop at an intersection where vehicle traffic exists, they will always lose the encounter. Eventually, the assumption that the other vehicle will stop or slow down will catch up with a driver that takes that risk on a daily basis. For your own safety and that of your passengers, please stop at all intersections with STOP Signs.
NAVIGATING NEW AREAS Our Engineering Department has been hard at work creating facilities that are up to Frenchman’s Creek Standards for your use while the Main Clubhouse is undergoing renovations. As they are still active construction zones, please use caution whenever you are moving through the Golf Cafe, the Bistro 19, and the Pavilion areas.
