GOLF
Dear Members,
On Thursday, November 12, we will be conducting a Callaway fitting day. The vendor has asked that anyone interested in trying Callaway equipment should make an appointment through the Golf Pro Shop, as this will ensure a controlled environment of proper social distancing and sanitization practices. Lastly, on Thursday, November 19, we will be hosting a Lady Member Staff event. This is a make-your- own-foursome event and the professionals will be blind draw. This event is open to all lady members of the Club, and we strongly encourage them to participate. Hopefully you can join us for these exciting events, and as always, my door is open for suggestions and comments.
Welcome back! What a great time of the year this is; the weather hopefully will be turning a little cooler soon and many of your fellow members and friends have returned for the season. November is also the month in which we really kick off the season with many opening events. Although everything is different due to Covid-19, we are going to do our best to deliver as normal of an experience as we possibly can. On Tuesday, November 3, the Frenchman’s Creek Ladies Golf Association will host their opening golf event. It will be a nine-hole event, in an A, B, C, D format. It will be morning tee times, followed by a premade salad menu, which can be enjoyed at the Bag Drop Café, Tennis Café, Sports Bar, Pool Café or take out. Membership in the FCLGA is required to participate, so if you haven’t already joined, the application to join can be obtained in the Golf Pro Shop. On November 4, the Club will be hosting the Men’s Opening Day golf event. This is an A, B, C, D event with pairings made by the Golf Pro Shop, with a member of the professional team or outside golf operations team drawn blind to play as your captain. This event is open to all male members of the Club and will have both 18-hole and 9-hole divisions. Upon the conclusion of play, lunch will be served at the Bag Drop café, Tennis Café, Sports Bar, Pool Café or take out. The first Wine, Nine and Dine of the season will be held on November 6. This is a make-your-own- foursome event, and the format is scramble. Dinner options will be available following play. On Wednesday, November 11, we will be holding our 3rd annual Veteran’s day golf event. We have an 18-hole and 9-hole division. One hundred percent of the $100 entry fee will be donated to Veteran Suicide Prevention, and checks should be made out to the West Palm Beach VA.
Health and Happiness.

TENNIS - BOCCE - PICKLEBALL - TIKKYBALL
Tennis
•Uneven weight distribution, but still able to make clean contact on most balls. •Reaching difficult balls by taking large “big steps” instead of small adjustments. Intermediate balance
Balance is one of the main aspects that allows a player to move around the court efficiently, as well as produce reliable strokes. Some of the latest findings for all levels of players benefit from applying the following standards of good balance:
Excellent Balance
Poor balance:
•Striking the ball while having a single foot on the ground. •Drastically swinging the racket across the body, instead of towards the intended target. •Bending over at the waist while hitting the ball.
•Have a consistent knee bend while moving to the ball, hitting the ball and recovering after hitting.
Pickleball
There are a host of health benefits that come with playing pickleball. As an aerobic activity, it improves cardiovascular health and decreases the risk of heart attacks. It also increases muscle strength, improves energy levels, and at the same time burs calories. Because it is a low impact activity, it focuses on balance and agility while carrying a low risk of injury. The combination of physical as well as social activity offers powerful mental health benefits to participants, such as improved mood. In conclusion, it is an excellent way to get exercise while having fun at the same time.
